How to Press DTF Transfers
How to Press DTF Transfers
Not sure how to apply your DTF transfers? Don’t worry — we’ve got you. Follow this quick step-by-step guide to get perfect, long-lasting results every time.
Recommended Press Settings
- Temperature: 275–285°F
- Time: 10–12 seconds (for cotton); 8–10 seconds (for polyester)
- Pressure: Medium to firm (we recommend higher pressure for best results)
- Peel: Hot peel (peel immediately after pressing)
Optional Finish Press: For a smoother feel and added durability, press again for 3–5 seconds with a protective sheet (like parchment or a Teflon sheet).
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Pre-press your garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Position your DTF transfer on the garment — design side up, carrier side on top.
- Press using the settings above (275–285°F, 10–12 sec, medium-high pressure).
- Peel hot immediately after pressing — don’t wait!
- Finish press (optional): For a softer feel and extra durability, cover with a parchment sheet and press for another 3–5 seconds.
Helpful Tips
- Always test press on new fabric types before full production.
- If your design lifts while peeling, your press may be too cool or pressure too light — adjust and try again.
- Use parchment paper or a Teflon sheet during the finish press to avoid shine.
